CORPORATE HISTORY
The concept for Natural Asset Companies (NACs) was originated by Douglas Eger in 2013. In 2017, Douglas established Intrinsic Exchange Group (IEG) as a financial innovation company with the goal of developing NACs as a model to meet the growing demand for nature-positive investment at scale. Early supporters of IEG and NACs included the Inter-American Development Bank (IBD), Rockefeller Foundation, Builders Initiative, and Aberdare Ventures. The concept was also embraced by conservation NGOs such as Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy.
